  1. Synopsis:
  2.    set show_numerics [on|off|toggle]
  3.  
  4. Description:
  5.    When turned on, for any server response that includes a numeric reply
  6.    or error code, the client will prepend that number to the message it
  7.    displays, in lieu of the usual "***" shown.  This is mostly only used
  8.    for informational purposes, though it can be useful in learning how
  9.    the server works.

  15.    Not all server replies have numeric codes.  Additionally, the client
  16.    may suppress some, if the client has a named hook for that reply.
